Update: January 14, 2000 Thought I'd forgotten you, didn't you? Not a
chance, pilgims! I've just been really busy, what with all this Y2K nonsense, and that
silly millennium hoax (man, the media sure bought into THAT one, didn't they? Not a whole lot going on, though. I made my resolutions for the New Year:
So expect to see some of my original art on this site in the next month or so; I've been missing me lately, and since I couldn't request me to room with (tell me what movie that's derived from, and I'll personally e-mail you and say, "Good job!"), I decided that the best thing to do was plop down and start drawing and painting again. I may be doing it digitally in some cases, but at least I'm going to be exercising those nearly-atrophied creative muscles. I hope I don't pull anything! Update: October 4, 1999 Things are going quite well, especially on the long-lost girlfriend front. No, not that; sheesh, what're you thinking, anyway? No, I mean, it's very cool to see that we still have a lot in common, and it's great to talk to someone who knows what I mean without needing a map all the time. I'm having a great time, and I'm learning a lot, too. My friends are probably wondering about me suddenly reading up on Buddhism, but, I assure you, I'm just fine. I'm fascinated by how much of it mirrors the way I think about life and happiness. Update: September 16, 1999 I had an incredible surprise this week. My past caught up with me (no, not the one with the mug shot in it; I'm still on the run from that one. Don't tell anyone you've seen me! Please!). About 15 years ago, I broke up with my first girlfriend. I hated losing her, but I take full responsibility for it. And for a couple years, I was your basic bachelor, and not very happy about it. Over the years, I've looked back on the time I spent with her as a pretty good time. We had fun, and it didn't hurt that she was pretty and sexy, as well :) Imagine my surprise when my friend shot an e-mail at me last week that said he was talking to her on ICQ. Now, this may not seem that odd, except for the fact that, when we broke up, she was living in Denmark!! I hastily installed ICQ (and I wouldn't use the damn thing if I didn't have to, believe me!) and tonight I got to talk to her. I didn't know what to expect, or what she would say to me after all these years, either. It was a great conversation, and I got to see her picture, as well. I have to say, she's still sexy, after all these years. Annemarie, I'm damn glad to get the chance to talk to you again! You have no idea (or maybe you do!) what you've done to the old guy :) |
How did YOU celebrate the New Year? ... I had a cookout for my friends; just
a little get together in the cold Indiana night, with the grille smoking out back, and the
folks smoking out front (one of them, at any rate!) My friends donated their house, out of
the range of falling lead projectiles in my part of the city, and I didn't burn the place
down. Nobody got food poisoning, either, so I consider the night a rousing success! Books on My Nightstand:

| Yeah, I bitch about stuff. Not as a rule, of course, but
there are things that just get under my mental fingernails and have to be dug out. Rather
than darken the doorstep of my thoughts, I've provided an alternate location for these
thoughts: My Peeves. Go there if you
care what bug is up my butt at this or any particular moment |
